Yin Yang Quilt

" The journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step." is the title of this beautiful quilt that hangs in my Tai Chi dojo. It's about 4 feet across (?). After class today I met with my teacher, Kim, to talk about the possibilities of some illustrations for a book she is planning, kind of a daunting project. So i thot the title of this was appropriate. But a bit of history: some years ago, Kim taught a class in a Seattle pain clinic for people with fibromyalgia and other chronic pain and wrote a chapter in a book on alternative methods for pain management. A mother and daughter, both with fibromyalgia, traveled some distance to take the class and quilted this special piece for her in just several weeks.
I love to look at it every week, it brings that yin yang symbol to life!
