Wolfe's Landing, Kennington Cove, NS

Vacation 2009: The Maritimes. Day 6. Wolfe's Landing is a historic place in Canadian, British, French, and North American history. Here, British General James Wolfe and his men came ashore and defeated French forces stationed here from Fortress Louisbourg to defend New France. Wolfe's victory here was part of the Seige of Louisbourg in 1758 and the beginning of the end of France's hold on the colony. It took a short trek to visit this site, but it was worth it.

Back-blipped 13 March 2011.
