Sunbeams

Blossom

Plum tree blossom. I always think it comes out much too early because of the frosts. We had a white frost this morning which quickly disappeared in the warm (!) sun.

Gardening has been my main priority over the last couple of days but the soil is now too dry and hard on this heavy clay to dig satisfactorily! The lawn is looking better but full of moss, and the brambles and ground elder are still presenting an ongoing challenge!

Tim let the dry cows out to grass today - they couldn't believe their luck and rushed round the field before settling down. It is still early for them to be out and when we get the rain they will probably have to come back into the yard again. Meanwhile it will save some of the dwindling animal feed and bedding we have left. The agronomist is inspecting the crops this afternoon with N and T and advising them on what to do next.
