Dolcezza Della Vita

Hanging on...

Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!

Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

This image seems very fitting today...two leaves that I came upon...they had endured fall and winter...all of the wind, rain, snow, ice...yet they still hung on together.

The poem...they are words I needed to hear today. It reminds me to accept things for what they are...as they come into my life. There is a reason for it all...the good and the bad...the things that absolutely make no sense to us at all and make us want to run.

No matter how horrible things appear...I can always count on my faith. I know I will never be tested past my limits. With that - I embrace whatever comes my way...even if it hurts like hell. If something is worth it to me...I'll hang on...no matter what is thrown at me...if its not...I'll let it go and never look back.
