Green

A humble subject, my bright green iron. I'm starting a new quilting project and was pressing some of the fabrics I might choose, when I looked down to see this faithful servant in all her steamy glory.

Green will spark comments and memories, and in the English language, the word green is used to describe so many things, attitudes, and as an adjective and a verb. Green as grass, folding green (money), green with envy, greening (describing progress), green as a synonym for stewardship of natural resources, green as in immature or untried. A horse which isn't broken to bit, bridle and saddle is green. And then there are those very painful green-stick fractures of bones. We can be green around the gills. Color names seem to have no end - just add green to all of these ..... jade, emerald, pea, mint, lime, forest, spring, sea, bottle, sage .....

You no doubt get the picture by now ;-0

Two colors to go - gray tomorrow and black last...
