Art - The Meters

Hectic day today so I didn't have a lot of time for my music blip. Went for an easy option instead.

I've posted this painting before but just in case you missed it. I'm lucky enough to know lots of very talented artists between friends and workmates. This was a bit different though. It was painted by Alan Oldham. As well as being an incredibly well known artist on the techno scene having done his own comics and label art for Detroit's Transmat records and Holland's Djax amonst others he's also a succesful DJ, musician and producer. It's all testament to the power of social networking as, prior to sending a request to him on Facebook it had never occurred to me I'd be able to get an original piece of his art. It takes pride of place in the living room now.
