Sugar Tank, Alto Texas

When I was taking this picture, an elderly gentleman approached me and asked what I was doing. I said I was recording history. His demeanor changed rather quickly. He started to open up about the history of East Texas and how it was a huge tomatoe growing area but fell out of favor because the tomatoes weren't packed right and by the time the railcar got to it's destination the tomatoes were spoiled. He talked for about 30 minutes and I finally said I had to leave. The tank pictured held sorghrum at one time but he didn't tell me much after that.
