Starry Eyed Surprise

Panbride Country Church

The Chickens are not happy.

Mr G has fenced off part of the back garden to allow the grass to grow back. (what's the point, we're re-turfing it soon anyway) This means that the chickens are no longer able to fly onto the window ledge to peer into the kitchen. They are no longer able to wander into the laundry room to have a sly drink and munch from the dogs bowls and they are no longer able to dig up the stone chips down the sides of the house.

Poor chooks, their world has fallen apart. Tonight, when I took out their pasta treat, Coco tried to run towards me but bounced off the fence. (It was quite funny to see how surprised she looked)

Fencing off the back garden was the last job on our 3 hour gardening session this afternoon.

The dogs helped by chasing each other around the garden, knocking over piles of gathered leaves. The chickens helped by eating all the worms they could feasible get into their beaks as the earth was being turned over by Mr G and me.
Even Claire helped by cleaning out the eglu.

All that fresh air has made me really tired. Although I did manage to take the dogs for a walk after tea, through the fields past Panbride Country Church.

I'm going to be doing a few more of these field walks in the next few weeks as Radar has come into season and she's too thick to have puppies she's not the mothering kind.
