Two Friends

Two friends sharing the lake, sitting and passing the time of day - I was amused with them both looking in the same direction.

The duck is the NZ Shoveler seen here and the cormorant is a Pied Shag. The Pied Shag is the second-largest of its species in New Zealand.

Quite pleased with the detail of the feathers, they appear black from a distance but are actually bronzy-black.

It rained for most of the morning but after lunch there was a little sun. I had a quick drive around and found myself at the lakes again, took several shots and came home to finish the house jobs. The sun is still shining but there are still heavy clouds looming.

Have a great week :)
