Rain Catcher

One of the gren features of a new courtyard near me is a set of four large umbrellas. They are metal and three of them are over tables. The fourth, the one featured here is actually part of a runoff system. All of the rain that falls on this courtyard and the driveway into the parking garage is emptied into a swale; I will feature that on another day.

This umbrella has a drain in the bottom, but it is a slow drain and allows for the water to overflow when it is raining hard enough. This photo was actually taken in the rain. My camra stayed dry, I did not.

But now it is the weekend and greater things are in store!
