Only a scumbag

would steal from a charity shop.

Went into Pocklington this morning to get a few things and noticed this sign in the Age UK shop window.
I do a stint in the Oxfam shop and know all too well that we have possibly more than our fair share of scumbag thieves walk thru the door, we know who some of them are, one is a very smartly dressed office worker from just around the corner, she doesn't like it when I'm in there as I watch her like a hawk untill she leaves. Sadly we are not allowed to apprehend them for fear of getting knived etc.
One of the volunteers makes beautiful hooky rugs to sell in the shop.....about £40/50 each, she makes three or four a year from the shrunken wool garments that are donated -see everything gets used- they are not small and are quite heavy... we had one knicked a couple of years ago.
The scum know the best times to come in, they know when the older ladies are on the till and how to confuse them.......they are B******

On a lighter note.....
The other half is a school guvner and had to go in the other morning to do his bit watching and taking part in the classrooms.
His favourite bit was with the reception class.
During assembly the children had been taught about Mother Theresa and her works, questions were asked later to check whether they had been listening.

"What did Mother Theresa see in the slums that made her so sad."

Silence

"Come on children, surely someone can tell me"

Very excited 5yr old waves hand in the air...

"Miss, Miss I know, I know"

"Good boy, tell us what she saw"

"SNAILS"

Other half had to leave the room and was mightily impressed with the teachers self control.... but then she is used to these gems that our small folk come out with.

So next time you see one......don't be sad, think of Mother T and smile.
