Fight at the end of the tunnel

Earlier than expected (hour change) start to a long day. We headed over to East Lothian for a party with Conor's best friend: seven sugar-rushed boys running screaming around East Links Family Farm... Somehow I volunteered to help out, and had a great time into the bargain. The weather was unexpectedly warm, the boys were all having fun, and there was cake. What more to ask from a day?

The new(ish) fort at the Farm has a big tube run around the bottom of it - which only serves to amplify the screams resulting from the battles being fought inside. Here I managed to catch one of the warriors trying to escape out of the backdoor. You could equally have ended up with a boy jumping off the top of the screen, or a goat eating a stick.

Once we managed to persuade the boys, sulkily, back into the cars, it was back to Gullane to find my daughter (who spent the day with a friend, in someone else's house), quick hello to our restauranteur former neighbours, then home to Mr B's pasta and, I feel, an early night.
