Is it right or is it wrong or somewhere in between

Slowly but surely we are trying to reduce our environmental impact - fluorescent bulbs, hybrid car, renewable energy (wind & water) for our electricity, even washing our own cloth diapers for 6 months before we gave up.

When our heating oil provider announced that they had Biofuel, which with the NY tax credits, would cost less per gallon than regular heating oil, there was really no soul searching on that one. But now some research suggests that biofuels create more carbon emissions & environmental destruction in their growing and processing than using petroleum. Ah, the dilemma. The source of our biofuel is US-grown soybeans - so hopefully not contributing to the deforestation of developing countries. But I do wonder whether this is a road to hell paved with good intentions...
