Difficult

Last weekend we had rather big leaks of hydrogen at the generator of unit EC 6.
Some lead throughs at sockets being used for measurement were defective.
We have a sophisticated measurement tool to detect such leaks and we called the maintenance department to fix the leaks.
When we started up the unit two days ago the tool didn't detect a leak but tonight we were asked to check again, just to make sure.
Mickey, our trainee has crawled into the space were the sockets are (only not too big persons can access that space :-) ) and he didn't find any leak.

Why do we use hydrogen as a coolant?
Well, it has a far much better coefficient of heat transfer compared to air.
But one has to take precautions to make sure the hydrogen stays inside the generator, because it's explosive....
