Shadow on the Sand

My walk today certainly blew away the cobwebs! The winds are high on the beach, and I felt quite vulnerable walking at the sea edge with the sand blowing into my face and shifting into my clothes and shoes.

Although the sun was shining, the beach was almost empty; the strong sand swirls keeping people on the sheltered promenade.

I wanted to capture the prettiness of the blowing sand patterns, but realised that I'd captured an eerie image of my shadow, as well; and no matter where I stood, there was no way I was going to get an image without me being in it...as a shadow.

Then I remembered something my grandma said to me when I was quite small;
"everything we do leaves a mark on someone or something, so never believe that you're unimportant."

With a huge smile, I decided it must be right for me to be in the shot, in whatever form; it's a reminder that I'm important.
