Doing Things Differently

You Looking at Me? #SIBG11

A wild and windy morning's birding with Alan. We were nearly blown over Caroline Bridge at one point!

After having our cobwebs blasted away, we spent the afternoon in the hide with Mike and Lawrie. Whilst we joked that a life raft was stowed in the ceiling, it really did feel at times that the hide was going to be blown into the river.

I only needed two new birds to achieve 100 Year Ticks for the SIBG patch. One was provided by a Peregrine, which played with the gulls over the hillside. A marvelous display of speed and agility. Lawrie has just reported that he saw something similar later in the afternoon. Unfortunately, he also saw two Swallows, right in front of the hide!!! That would have been my 100. But I had left by then.

So my Blip for today has to be a cheeky one - this Grey Partridge was hiding in the grass on the far side of the river and doesn't look too pleased with me taking its picture.
