The Office in a Suitcase

WARNING: Content could cause worry and anxiety to mothers (for my mother anyway) Mum - this has a happy end, OK?

The Office in a Bag has enlarged to a suitcase as today we were led into our restricted access building in a very controlled way to collect and remove whatever we could carry out in a 15 min timeslot.

We were given a safety briefing about the building. It was safe but a violent aftershock while we were in there could pose major problems. We could go in 6 at a time and were divided into groups from similar areas within the floor. We had 2 Rescue Teams members with us who led us in, checked for hazards, watched us and helped us out. We had 15 mins which included getting to our floor (3rd for us thank goodness) and getting out again. We were told what to do if there was a shake and that 3 blows on a whistle meant get out immediately. We were kitted with hard hats and hi-vis vests.

All went well if rather frenzied. Felt a bit like one of those mad shopping competitions where you have to fill the trolley and run. Glad to retrieve some special personal items and also my main work files, docking station etc.

We may be allowed in again at some later date, but for now I have enough to go on with!
