Who am I to disagree?

Stormbound

Stormbound in the Daertahytta

Spindrift whips across the snow
While on to Dividal we need to go
But that will not be happening today
Quite simply we'd get blown away

We sit around and watch our clothes dry
They're above the stove all hanging high
While in the pot snow turns to water
A natural reaction when it gets hotter

We make up juice, coffee or tea
The side effect though is the need to pee
So put on jacket, boots and gaiters too
They're all required for a trip to the loo

We leaf through old Norwegian mags
Listen to stories and tell daft gags
Try and compose some poetic wit
Just to hear that it was great

We eat lots of food, so reduce the bulk
Of that which we pull in the pulk
So with lighter loads and rested bodies
Thoughts turn to how to continue our journeys

Maps are studied and plans re-drawn
All dependent on a far better dawn
But when will nature let us get away
From this hut in the Arctic - no one can say
