Disturbed sleep is the inevitable byproduct of switching the repellent off. Heavy mosquitoes, spent from indulgence the night before stumble in the dense early morning air, bearing testimony. It's the wrong time and they are easy targets.

The long wait for coffee alerts me. The grass looks greener today. It is finely cut without bald patches. Kids with bikes parked wait on them. Pigeons carrying mouthfuls fly across.

I should have changed the toothbrush by now. It is old enough. Its bristles are arched like tired sprouts from a drying fountain. The last kiss remains in the bag. Two new bars are discovered. Watery thoughts follow, thoughts warm and yellow, thoughts blue like sky and evening snow.
