Today I travelled with 3 colleagues from Christchurch to Wellington for a conference. Webstock 2008.

We left on a 6.45am flight, to get there in time for the 8.30am start,. The timing was perfect.

As the conference blurb said "Webstock is a range of web-related events with the aim of improving how websites are built through inspiration, education, insightful analysis and practical application. It features industry leaders and kick-ass speakers talking on topics such as accessibility, web standards, usability and other best practices."

And I'll mentioned more in tomorrows post. One thing for sure, it's the conference I have even been to in terms of organisation; cool bags and t-shorts, awesome food, free icecream and red bull, free wireless and game zones, and just loads of other great trimmings.

I had heaps of great photos today, but chose this, not for its artistic merit, but to showcase the venue. The old Wellington town hall. The speaker here is Cal Henderson from a website you probably know well, Flickr, talking about how to design for scalability. Oh, some interesting Flickr stories!

Umm, I edited this and placed the original here, along with another of interest. I couldn't decide!
