But where's Mary Poppins?

Whenever I see a Merry-Go-Round, it reminds me of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. They were nowhere to be seen on Clacton Pier this afternoon - nor was anybody else. It was bereft of visitors, but there was a lot going on all the same. There were men with drills, hammers, saws, grinders and the like, getting it all ready for the Easter break when the pier will be heaving with people (weather-permitting).

The pier has been under new ownership for a year or so, and there have been quite a few improvements, in fact the whole Pier Avenue is now looking shiny and newly painted.

This little chap is called Bryn and travels clockwise around the roundabout (or should they be called carousels?). Did you know that almost everywhere else, roundabouts go anticlockwise?
