Get Real

The words you use
are not always the words
you'd say

face to face.

The cheekiness evaporates.
The wit diminishes.
The tongue gets tied.

The charm, such as it is,
gets the chop.

And, to be blunt, the lust
gets a boot in the balls.

You mean what you say
but it comes out wrong.

So perhaps, for you, it is best
to say what you mean

and mean what you say
in a poem

or a song?

Misunderstood
