Cadillac Ranch

Many years ago, in 1974 to be exact, these 10 cadillacs were planted nose down in a farm field alongside Route 66 on the outskirts of Amarillo, Texas. Since then they have been a very popular tourist attraction, visited by thousands who come carrying cans of spray paint to add their touch to the unusual creation. You can read more about this display of public art here . Because we were stopping overnight in Amarillo, we walked out into the dusty farm field to see this unusual outdoor display of "art".
