In The Occupied Territory

Running and standing still

This being the Easter School holidays here, our daughter came out with Michaela and Arya-June, her 2 female children, to spend the afternoon with my wife. They went across to Inverurie and then to a nearby indoor/outdoor children's play area called Hoodles.
Whilst they had a walk along the river and had a nice (part) family dinner together, guess what I did?
Yep, worked. Being a Friday during said holidays when the universities are closed also, it was relatively quiet, with no exciting tales to tell.
Instead I will list all the famous people I have picked up in my car over the years in Aberdeen. At least the ones I can remember.
Terry Jones, Russ Abbot, Millicent Martin, Ian St John, Russel Hunter, Elaine C Smith, Christopher Timothy, Timothy Britain, Bev Bevan, Midge Ure, Glen Matlock and Wayne Sleep's boots, to name but a few.
Anyway, why do we in Scotland still call this time, " The Easter Holidays" since we do not have the actual Easter bank holiday off, and instead have the spring public holiday, which this year is the week before The Mayday Holiday, and the same week as The Royal Wedding holiday?
