Another hot day

Today turned out to be another sizzling hot day. After lunch we visited Montacute House Garden and wandered slowly about looking at the tulips and trees, gazebos and an hidden ice house (with no ice!). We finished by sitting in the courtyard with a cup of National Trust tea and an expensive and dry slice of cake. Oh yes and I did buy a miniature Curry plant as my large one at home has been pruned right back and will take ages to grow again.

Montacute House was built in about 1590 for Edward Phelips who became Speaker of the House of Commons and Lord of the Rolls. It is built in the local Ham stone and is an impressive and beautiful old building surrounded by parkland.
