rail against

He's always had a bit of a thing for twisting around to his right when sitting in his high chair, somehow preferring it to the left, especially the bit which should be level with his elbow onto which he likes to smear things directly from his mouth. He's never quite got round to properly trying to escape, having almost twisted his right leg free several times but not following-through and standing up on the seat. He was fortunately extremely placid when I had to feed him his lunch sitting in his pushchair, waiting until we were almost home before he started trying the same trick in that, twisting completely round and then going up on his knees though seemingly purely investigatively rather than in a frantic want-to-get-out sort of way. There are straps in it but it was easier just to lift him out and carry him the last couple of blocks.
