Retail Therapy

Lazy day today. Drizzling rain and kids lying in a bit longer made us decide to have a quiet day recharging batteries.

Took a walk down to the 'town centre' in the afternoon after being humped at cards (me, personally, others faired better). A pint in the local hotel then headed a few doors down to the pub only to find it closed in the afternoons. I don't think the tourist season's kicked off sufficiently for them to justify opening during the day, but the very young chap on the bike that circled us as we walked towards the place and asked us all individually waht our nakes were and who's Dad's pub it apparently was said we could sit at the outside tables if we liked, even though they were soaking wet. Still, it was very hospitable of him, as was the request he made of one of our party to go back to his house to see where he stayed (the request being reinforced with him jumping off his bike and grabbing Margaret's sleeve to forcibly drag her there). Think there may have been an age gap issue there, but good on him for trying.

We stopped off on the stroll back at the local shop/post office/community centre here to stock up on some essentials (bread, red wine, biscuits) as locals popped in and out to chew the fat and buy some Pedigree Chum.

My turn in the kitchen tonight, lasagne (non Pedigree Chum recipe) and only slightly burned garlic bread (took my eye off the ball for only a few seconds and there was smoke spewing out the kitchen). Everyone was most complimentary on how the charcoaly bits really added to the flavour though, so it looks like I got away with it.

Hopefully off to see some wild dolphins tomorrow, fingers crossed they come out to play.
