Feast of lights

Been round at friend's house slaving over a spreadsheet for what should be a relatively routine administrative task, but which proved more complex than we imagined.

This lampshade was my view for the evening, so it lodged in my consciousness over the hours.

I was struck by the 1950s-style leaf pattern on the shade and the light it cast. I also liked the red, green and yellow objects strung across the window that echoed the colours of the lampshade.

And having quickly snapped it I find it has a certain hyper-real quality to it, which reflects my mental state by the end of the evening.

All in all I find the image both alluring and unsettling, which I like.
