Of thick dogs and Pagodas.

Yet another of the dreaded "Confined to Barracks" days, so I'll fall back on the Plants as they appear.
I have to admit that mine do not look quite like these Erythronium 'Pagoda', ANOTHER broken link, but they have achieved "weed" status in that they are places we didn't expect to see them again.

O.K. you say, what about the "Thick dogs"? Well I love "Gardeners' Latin. The first Erythronium (Erythronies/Erythroniae) we bought missed a blipping, due to a few days out and about and they were here and gone.

In Latin they are Erythronium "dens canis", Guess who's got a warped sense of humour??
