Ta-da!

A wonderfully warm Sunday in Fort Worth. Biked downtown to the Main St. Arts Festival for a bit of people watching and art speculating. Locked up the bikes and wandering over to a crowd of people who were cheering. I love street performers so, B and I made our way to a side of the people circle that wasn't too crowded and sat down near some little kids. We had a great view.

It turns out we had stumbled across the amazing David Alken of Vancouver, better known as The Checkerboard Guy. He knows how to work a crowd and keep the people interested and involved. For his finale, he was going to ride the "6 foot unicycle of death" and juggle two insanely sharp objects plus something from the crowd; lucky us it was Brian's left shoe! He made a big deal about it being smelly, the crowd loved it, B just shrugged his shoulders and laughed too. It was great.

In the first ten minutes we had the best time; after that it was just hot and crowded. However, we did hear a great lounge style band that crooned to the crowd.

Dropped a chain on the ride home. Boo. Time for a bit of bike maintenance and then back to the books.

Happy Sundays to all!

The Checkerboard Guy's Finale; recognize the blue puma?
