Street Art #5

Stokes Croft is a vibrant, exciting part of Bristol.

There's a hint of menace but also a strong hint of amazing creative talent.

It's slowly being gentrified I think and will consequently lose a bit of that edge that makes it an interesting place.

There's currently an ongoing protest against the opening of the 31st Tesco store in Bristol happening in Stokes Croft. Great weather for protesting and they do seem to have a point (he writes whilst being careful not to be too hypocritical). Gloucester and Cheltenham Road leading down to Stokes Croft is reputedly one of the best surviving old style shopping streets in the South West, if not the whole country!

Some great bakers, butchers, fishmongers, ironmongers, cafes, bookshops, art shops, home brew shops, you name it, exist down there. We all say we love it but then how many of us go around the corner and nip into Tesco?!

Anyway there's enough street art to last for a few weeks!

There's a couple of big Banksy's but they'll have to wait their turn!
