Saxon Switzerland

Thursday was what I would call a perfect day! Friends are visiting us in Dresden and R had organized things to show them. Most of these I hadn't seen before either so it was all new and exciting for me to see as well :)

In the morning we rode up the river Elbe on an old steam boat. It took about 3 hours but it was worth every minute of it! Once we arrived in Saxon Switzerland we went on a short hike on top of the Bastei. The view from up there was absolutely amazing and definitely one of the most impressive things I've seen in a long time. Pretty amazing scenery ... after having spent days in a city behind a desk, walking through a forest and seeing all this lush greens was a relief actually.

We took the train back to Dresden and had classic biergarten dinner with bratwurst and beer :)

Deciding on which blip to show for today was NOT easy as there were way too many to chose from! As those rock formations in Saxon Switzerland and the view were so impressive I thought it sums up the day quite nicely :)
