The big smoke

Yesterday R suggested I met him after work in London where he was working today (and most of the time at the moment) and we booked a hotel for the night.

The photo above is behind the head office of one our major and long time high street stores. Its I think an eclectic mix of buildings, you have got old and new and in between then right through the middle you have a mode of transport that has been around for many, many years and it fits in all nicely!

What a lovely day to be on a narrow boat!

When I had met R (just after I had taken this photo) i'd already checked in to the hotel but we headed back to drop R's things off and then went for a walk round Hyde Park, had a meal in a lovely Italian restaurant and then had desert at Haagen Dazs! Perfect evening!

R is looking forward to a much needed 4 day weekend and tomorrow we are going to play tourist before heading home.
