Good Friday race

Early start to get to this 10 mile race. Good race from a spectator's point of view as the runners came past my observation spot about 6 times (but a bit confusing for the runners!).

While we were waiting for the start, a small munjac deer popped out from the hedge, took in the number of people around, gave a surprised look and then dashed along the road.

The 1000 or so runners really looked as if they were struggling with the heat. It was a very hot, still day. I was standing by a very busy water station. At one point the road was covered in a thick layer of discarded plastic cups.

Husband reasonably pleased with his time given the heat.

Back for lunch and a start on replacing fence panels in the garden. Two down, four to go.

Evening finished with a walk down to pub by the Thames with husband, Son number one and girlfriend. Lovely evening light on the river but home before the first bats emerged.
