the family portrait

although shy as well as a bit nervous about having their little ones around me on dry ground - they honk and make this sweeping motion with their necks toward the water, and in they all go - there was no lack of posing once the whole family was safely in the water.

as usual... i was chatting away at them - oohing and aahing over the little ones... they are just too cute. i'm certain this is why all the posing was going on. give a compliment, they'll stop and listen to what all the fussing is about... can't help themselves. so i managed to get some shots of mom, dad and the kiddos...

it's difficult to tell if there's more hatching to come. it sure does appear other geese are continuing to nest out on the island... i guess only time will tell.
