Delivery mileage

It is a long, long time since I have had a car with this kind of mileage on the clock.

The new car was ordered before the 8.9 magnitude earthquake hit Japan. 2,300 new Nissan cars were swept away in the tsunami that followed. The Japan based plants closed. The UK plant had to announce an extended closure because of the lack of parts being available.

This car arrived exactly on the day promised.

Today there are indications that the Japanese governments credit rating is being downgraded. The nuclear threat is as great as ever. A country noted for quality and commitment has found itself torn apart.

It wasn't planned, and makes no practical difference, but I hope that the pound or two of this purchase that finds its way back, along with millions of others, might aid economic recovery from natural disaster. After all, this suffering can't be laid at the doors of bankers, government regulators, credit givers, or pure human greed! No one brought this on!
