Old School, Kerrera

Until today's campaign visit I had been on Kerrera only once before - in October 1992 when making a film for BBC Scotland called "Ports of Call" which was part of an international series about places on the Celtic seaboard of Europe. My film (and we did use film - the only time I have shot on Super 16) was centered on the Mod in Oban and we followed a young man coming from Neilston to compete. We filmed dawn coming up over Oban from the island , and there was the first snow of the winter on the twin peaks of Ben Cruachan and Stob Diamh. We walked past this on our way to set up the camera - now it is deserted though it might, one day, be a community centre.
