Yesterday's News....

..... is today's bedding for Lolita the tortoise, and a blip for me.

While Bruce (or Sheila) reads the Telegraph, (see yesterday's blip) Lolita prefers the Express.

Lolita was found in the back of a London taxi cab about 3 years ago.
She was brought into the vets by the cabbie. She is a Hermans Tortoise (Testudo hermanni) native to the Mediterranean region.
The cabbie had only made one pick up that day, a woman returning from a holiday in Spain, so she had either accidentally or otherwise packed the tortoise

It is illegal to bring tortoises into Britain. Only those bred in captivity can be kept as pets these days - a huge and welcome change from when I was a child and you could buy one in and pet or greengrocer's shop.

Lolita has more than doubled in size - she was about the size of a lemon when found. I'm caring for her while my daughter is away.
Recent examination proved Lolita is actually male...
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls, its a mixed up world...
Maybe she should just be called.....
