Act Naturally.

Petersham Meadows & the Thames from Richmond Hill.
At the end of the 19th century, as suburbanisation crept along the Thames, Petersham Meadows was at serious risk of falling to the developers.
A public outcry, now regarded as one of the earliest & most successful environmental campaigns in history, led to the Richmond, Ham & Petersham Open Spaces Act of 1902.
The meadows & Thames path are still a wonderful place to stroll & take it easy today, and this vista remains, I think, the only view in the U.K. protected by Act of Parliament.
