He Nearly Lost It!!!!!!

This is the hand of my eldest son Joe who's 9. As usual Katy was picking him up after school to take him home. It was a bit breezy today and once home and out the car as he went to close the door of the car and the wind caught it and slammed shut on his hand. On opening the the door Katy found that the nail was hanging off and was pooring with blood.

She then called me to let me know what was happenin then called her folks to see if they could watch Matthew and Lady T while she took him to the childrems A&E department. Her dad came over with her brother who then stayed and watched the too younger ones while he took them up to the hospital.

They were seen quite quickly as it was quiet. Once in he had a x-ray taken to see if there was any broken bones but thankfully there wasn't. What they found was that the nail stem was still ok and that with bandaging it the nail would keep growing normally come time. The bandage has to be changed every 5 days and he's not allowed to get it wet.

This is a pain as he had not long started swimming lessons which he can't take part in now or any other gym activities at school and he can't further the progress of the bike riding mentioned in yesterdays write-up
