Doing Things Differently

Gulp!

Went to Rodley Nature Reserve today, which is to the west of Leeds. A small reserve on the banks of the River Aire, Rodley is run by a band of enthusiastic volunteers, on the site of an old waterworks.

It is particularly good for warblers and I managed to get some Sedge Warbler photos which you can see here when I've processed them.

Whilst watching the Sedge Warblers display in the reeds, all manner of action was going on in the background. Swans and Canada Geese were squabbling, Coots were nesting and Grey Herons from the nearby roost were gliding around. I was lucky to capture this one with its lunch.

Not only was this a gulp for the Heron, but it is also my contribution to this weeks challenge - UP! - details of which you can find here - as it was further up than the frog had ever been!
