The First Nip

In July last year we lost an old and highly valued family member.
Don Curzon of Dunedin, New Zealand passed away aged 87 after a spell of illness.
Don, my Stepfather, came into our lives some twenty years ago when we first visited NZ. Don and I shared a somewhat jaundiced view of some aspects of modern life and a love of appalling puns. We would also share the occasional single malt, hence this rose, "Glenfiddich" which I have planted in Don's memory. This is the first bud to show and I await with interest to see if the petals echo the colour of it's namesake.
There is so much more to tell about Don but will just finish by saying that 20 years was far too short a time to have the aquaintance of such a fine gentleman.
