Howdy neighbour

I was working for someone in an avo orchard , there on my own all day, and I hear this strange booming sound, kind of like a resonant drum beat. Just over the fence , in the neighbouring orchard were three of these guys. This might be a common thing in Australia , but here , yes maybe chickens or ducks but emus!!

These birds are simply beautiful, the colouring , the imposing size and the feathers. They seemed quite calm and composed. Only had a few minutes to get a shot, off they wandered and not to be distracted from the task in hand.
