Top of Africa

The 50th floor of the Carlton Centre in downtown Johannesburg is currently the tallest building in Africa. We strolled around the 360º observation deck, marveled at the views and an enormous group of school kids on an outing, who exhibited their best behaviour. Afterwards, we walked the bustling streets of downtown around the centre, then drove through Hillbrow and New Town, enjoying interesting street views, markets and public art.

Had an INCREDIBLE lunch in Melville, and watched towering thunder clouds forming in the south. Now home and warming up soup for dinner.

This is the west view of the Johannesburg skyline, stitched together with a nifty, free piece of software that you can download here.
