My Irish wife is obsessed with magpies.

1 for sorrow
2 for joy
3 for a girl
4 for a boy

1 lone magpie is invariably a great source of concern. She has to see another one almost immediately after, in the hope that it will be technically considered as 2 magpies (by the Higher Superstition Authorities?).
It is also believed that if someone else sees the lone magpie at the same time as you, the bad luck waves beamed at you are immediately called back.

Anyway, here are my 2 maggers for today, to bring you luck wherever you may be.
