Jake's Journal

3.30am

The problem with being a night owl during the Highland summer is that sun quickly ruins your nocturnal plans. It's no place to be a vampire. The sun sets properly a around 10.30 but seems to only dip under the horizon before coming popping back up at around half three.

I got this shot on my way to bed. I don't mind this level of light because it means I can read in my caravan without that horrible, buzzing, clinical light flickering at my eye-line. Soon though the light starts to pour in over the land and the bleachy caravan walls are revealed. This makes it hard to sleep. My body starts to wake up a little. You know it's too late when the birds start to sing.
