Getting Ready....

The garden is tilled, and the horse shit is ready to be spread about.....next thing, planting the seeds and seedlings....altho we probably have to wait about another week here before we can trust the weather! It was another busy day here....the gang headed off for another load of horse shit....sounds so much more dramatic than 'manure' i think! and me, i had to head into Baddeck for the first dental appointment in about 10 years!!! i know, pretty bad of me, but being self employed, raising twins....no benefits and very costly dental expenses over here....i just talked myself into not going! I mean, i could have forgone all the lovely wine, movies, trips to visit friends etc....and sat in a chair with a crazy guy with a drill hanging over me! anyway, suffice to say i have some work to be done in this mouth! nothing is causing problems....yet....but he was very understanding, and somewhat compassionate...and for a dentist i think that is a very good sign. so, by the end of June i will have embarked on the repair work!!

In other news....i had a lovely few hours in the kitchen...preparing the soup that Gifts of Grace linked to a few days ago...it just sounded so good! so - that's on the menu for this evenings meal. Along with a curried dish with rice. I really should have been married to a very wealthy man whilst raising my kids....i so enjoy spending 2-3 hours in the kitchen, exploring and experimenting.....oh well! now that i don't have the pressure of having to have something to eat on the table by 5.30 having stopped work at 5.....i'm so enjoying being creative in the kitchen!
