Pheasant

The pheasant seems to be the most common bird in the Peak District they're everywhere.
Almost as tame as chickens they can easily startle you as they fly off when you're just about to tread on them.
Come the first of October there'll be gunshots ringing around as the pheasant shooting season starts.
