High Water

Evening all,

Well after yesterday's somewhat mournful (and somewhat self indulgent) blip of yesterday, i'm glad to say i'm back to my normal flippant,foolish foppish self.

Had a lovely day today, spent the afternoon at Rother Valley country park getting very wet and kayaking around the little islands cooing and ahhing at all the little baby birds and cursing the waterproof camera which consumes batteries at a rate that would make an eco-warrior blush!!

We saw little moorhen chicks, gaggles of goslings and dozens of ducklings which proved very inquisitive and at one stage attempted to send a boarding party to number 1 daughter's kayak, until warded off by a sensibly protective mother duck.

"Give me the camera," said the current Mrs Richardson, "i'll take pictures of the two of you in the kayaks while i walk the lake.."

Sadly neither of us proved photogenic enough to compete with baby birds, and so, hours later , as we review the photos we find out of 20 photos, two of us and 18 of bloody goslings....

Still ,look closely at the photo dear reader, i'm there somewhere!!!
