On The Beach

They've started to build a little urban beach here. They have one in Mainz (and Paris & London & no doubt in loads of other places) and that works because it's beside the river. This, however, is kilometers from the river and looks odd as it's just outside the town hall.

They appear to be building a volleyball court too. With little stands for people to sit and watch. I'm not sure that it works for me at all.

In other news, it feels like today was the hottest day of the year so far. The little thermometer on the terrace is hovering very close to 40. That is officially way too hot for me. And it's not even June yet. Town was busy today, it looks like they're getting ready for the festival this Thursday - the first sausage stalls have started to appear. I shall investigate further and report back if it is at all interesting.

Today's song is from the upcoming film Delhi Belly. I think it's very good. I'd love to see the film but I suspect it won't make an appearance round here.
